KBlossoms has just released our gold and silver owl necklaces! They are perfect to wear for the Fall for Thanksgiving or Halloween! Owls are wise animals and are a symbol of good fortune. The owls are inspired by my recent hike to Cooper Canyon Waterfall behind the mountains of La Canada. We had to take the Buckhorn trail above to get there. The trail was covered with pine cones and had redwood and pine trees everywhere! The forest floor was littered with huge pine cones. Above is probably a typical tree where an owl once stayed and they probably cooled down in the waterfall. You can visit my Etsy store to view the owl necklaces: www.kblossoms.etsy.com
Kblossoms has just released our elephant and giraffe sterling silver necklace collection! These elephant charms have Swarovski crystals hanging next to them, resembling peanuts in a circus. This is a one-of-a-kind design inspired by the book by Sara Gruen “Water for Elephants” that has been made into a motion picture film this year. The book is an amazing story of Jacob and Marlena’s love for Rosie, the beautiful elephant who keeps the circus afloat. Jacob is a veterinary school student whose luck had run out when he was orphaned and penniless during the Great Depression. He falls in love with Marlena, the star performer of a traveling circus in the 1930’s who is married to a brutal man, August, a handsome circus boss who abuses animals and people in the circus. Rosie was acquired into the circus as the new act that would save the circus; the problem was she didn’t have an act, she couldn’t even follow instructions because she understands only Polish. Jacob discover's Rosie's talents when he speaks Polish to her and finds out she can follow his directions. The bond between Marlena and Jacob grows overtime and they both try to protect Rosie from August’s brutal beatings. This elephant and giraffe necklace is a symbol of Marlena and Jacob’s love for all circus animals and for each other. I’m sure we all love going to the circus, and hopefully things have changed since the 1930’s where beautiful circus animals are treated more humanely. Kblossoms has just released our collection of freshwater pearl necklaces and earrings! Pearl is the modern June birthstone. It is also the Gemini and Cancer birthstones and is given to the wife during her 1st wedding anniversary. The pearls we have in our store all are freshwater pearls; an organic gem formed inside oysters or mussels. Our pearl earring and necklace designs come in ivory, rose, gray, and gold colors! A pearl is formed when an irritant such as a tiny stone or bit of sand gets inside the mollusk’s shell. A lustrous substance called nacre is secreted around the object to protect the soft internal surface of the mollusk. Over time, layer upon layer of nacre coats the sand or stone, and a pearl is formed. It can take up to seven or eight years for a solid pearl to form!
