Kblossoms Polymer Clay Creations
My StoryMy name is Kathy and my journey began in 2023 when I had the itch to learn a new art skill. I started by taking pottery spinning classes in my local neighborhood to make a pot for my plant. Then I took a hand building clay class at Lavender Marketplace and made three Totoro paintbrush holders for my nieces who are in love the movie My Neighbor Totoro! I then thought, how can I create more clay figurines and pots without investing in a kiln for baking and after researching online, I discovered the joy of creating things with my hands using colorful polymer clay! I then started ordering molds, cutters, jewelry findings, pins, and clips and the rest is history. I just fell in love with this new hobby and love creating kawaii animals, fruits, candy, dimsum, cupcakes, ice cream, donuts and Totoro's out of polymer clay and make them into wearable or usable pieces that both adults and kids can enjoy! Some people tell me my food and dessert creations look good enough to eat.

MaterialsI mainly use high quality Sculpey Premo and Souffle to make all my polymer clay creations. They are super easy to mold and has a smooth finish. I use various tools, molds and cutters or my hands to create the various shapes. My polymer clay earrings are adorned with crystals and I used gold or silver plated earring hooks or earring backs.

ProcessI handmake every piece in 3D form with various colors of Sculpey polymer clay and I like to add floral, fruit, crystals or gold leaf details to my polymer clay creations. I bake and glaze the pieces afterwards. I use very strong Liquid Sculpey or DAP Rapid Fuse glue to adhere the polymer clay to the metal pins, hooks or paperclips for a strong bond. The pieces are glazed with Upol Clear #1 which dries hard with no stickiness and is pretty scratch resistant and provides long lasting shine and protection.
