Title:  Chinese Porcelain Cherry Blossom Vase Still Life Painting
Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Size: 16"x20"

This is my latest cherry blossom painting called “Chinese Porcelain Cherry Blossom Vase Still Life Painting”.   It’s my first still life vase painting of my cherry blossom series.  I delicately painted a white Chinese porcelain vase with orange flowers and green leaves.  The background is dark brown and really contrasts with the magenta cherry blossoms which are two dimensional while the brown branch remains textured. A magenta cherry blossom branch is put in the vase and is commonly used as the centerpiece décor in Chinese households during Chinese New Years.  This is the perfect painting to hang on the wall of your dining room, living room, or office!
I was inspired to paint these beautiful magenta cherry blossoms by the beautiful pink wildflowers of San Juan waterfall located in the Cleveland National Forest.  The magenta wildflowers are vibrant in color and mother's natures beautiful creation.  San Juan waterfall is an easy 1 mile round trip hike in the Santa Ana mountains.  This is a short loop trail where you sill see many chaparral type of wildflowers and lizards darting across your path.  We took the pictures of this 15 foot waterfall above on the trail overlooking it below.  The entire hike was covered with these beautiful magenta wildflowers.  I just had to paint them in cherry blossom form since they are so gorgeous along our path making hiking so fun and enjoyable!

Title: Ruby Red Cherry Blossom
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas
Size: 16" x 20"

This is my latest acrylic painting entitled "Ruby Red Cherry Blossom" that I just finished!  I wanted to paint a large cherry blossom in a simpler Southwestern style, focusing on only a single focal point cherry blossom in detail.  This light pink cherry blossom is set on a light blue background.  The petals of the cherry blossoms are light pink, painted over with shades of pink and white to create a textured effect. The anthers are ruby red color, reminding me of the red garnet gemstones I use in my KBlossoms jewelry shown above.  I painted the stamens rose pink with a burgundy outline.

The red garnet is a stone of passion and courage and is associated with gentleness, affectionate nature, kind heartedness, sincerity, charity, and truthfulness.  Early explorers and travelers carried red garnets as protective talismans, as they were believed to be a source of light and luck.  We carry several red garnet necklaces and earrings in our Kblossoms Etsy store: www.kblossoms.etsy.com.
