Red plum blossom branch love birds Chinese Brush Painting
This is my Red plum blossom branch love birds Chinese Brush Painting. I painted this with black, red, orange, and brown calligraphy ink on Canson Heritage paper, 140lb. watercolor paper. The plum blossom, known as the meihua in Chinese (梅花), is a symbol for resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity because plum blossoms often bloom and survive in the middle of the the harsh winter snow exuding ethereal elegance. The plum blossom is also one of the Four Gentlemen (四君子) in Chinese brush painting (the others being orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum), symbolizing nobility. The two orange love birds are hanging out on a plum blossom branch during a beautiful Spring day representing joy and happiness. This painting comes in poster prints in various sizes 11x14", 16x20", 20x30" and come unframed. The original framed painting is also for sale and is 12"x16", just select Original Framed Painting.
