This is my Pink Magnolia Branch Chinese Brush Painting. I painted this with pink, magenta, green and brown calligraphy ink on Arteza cold press watercolor paper, 140lb. In the Chinese culture, the pink magnolia tree symbolizes youth, innocence, joy, purity, nobility, and perseverance. The endurance and strength of the magnolia trees have also made them a symbol of everlasting connections. The tree was also known for its healing powers because in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the magnolia bark was used as a sleep aid. Magnolias blossom around February and March in North America.
