Description of "Back Bay Fens Park"
This is my impressionistic style cherry blossom painting that is inspired by Boston's Back Bay Fens Park. It is painted on a 20" circular canvas with a dark turquoise background. The branches have various shades of brown, deep magenta, and yellow highlights to show three dimensional texture and the sun hitting the tree. The flowers are yellowish white color and the tree branch is outlined in a burgundy brown, creating an impressionistic cherry blossom painting.
Inspiration for "Back Bay Fens Park"
Boston, MA has always been my first inspiration for painting cherry blossom trees. I lived 2 years in Boston during my graduate school years at the Harvard School of Public Health. In between my never ending reading research articles and paper writing days, I often enjoyed afternoon weekend strolls at the Bay Bay Fens Park to wind down and relax. Below are pictures of the beautiful white cherry blossom trees I walk past every Spring time at Back Bay Fens Park. Often times during the spring and summer months, you will find dozens of Canadian geese walking around the Back Bay Fens, students sunbathing or reading a book, and couples holding hands. This is the park where I remember the first time white cherry blossom petals rained on me from the cherry blossom trees as I was taking a stroll through this park. One day I hope to visit the Back Bay Fens Park again with my boyfriend during the Spring time holding hands like all couples do at the park.
