This is my San Diego Inspired Jewelry blog! San Diego is the perfect place to visit for some fun under the sun! It's always perfect 70-80 degree weather with so much to do! In a couple of days you can take a Cinderella carriage ride around Sea Port Village, read in the bookstore, take the Seal Tour on land and water, relax in the sand, surf! The Cinderella carriage in my Kblossoms store is inspired by the horse drawn white carriage I saw at Sea Port Village. You never need to walk around Seaport Village because you can always hitch a ride in these carriages, or bike carriages, or segways! You can also explore the city by the Old Town trolley tours or Seal Tour that takes you to the historical Balboa Park and into the the water in the San Diego bay to see sea lions basking in the sun and navy dolphins and seals and real Navy Seals in training. My favorite place for dessert is definitely Extraordinary Desserts located in Balboa Park and Little Italy. They have the most delicious rich cakes of all flavors decorated with rose petals sprinkled with gold leaf or grapes and other delicious fruits. For those of you girls out there who love to shop like me, the best places to shop are Seaport Village, Horton Plaza, and the Gas Lamp District with their individual small boutique soap and cupcake shops, bookstores, and typical mall shops and department stores like Ann Taylor, GAP, Banana Republic, Macy's, Nordstrom. The best way to travel to San Diego from Los Angeles is to take the Amtrak Surfliner where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the coast and read or watch movies on your iPad. They have free Wifi, air condition aboard and the round trip ticket is cheaper than driving with the exorbitant gas prices these days. I even brought back a souvenir, my Del Sol color changing bag from Seaport Village! Kblossoms has just released our Ojai inspired Fall leaf jewelry! We recently took a trip to Ojai, CA a charming, spiritual, artistic town, and a natural paradise full of breathtaking views of the green valley, pink sunsets and vintage cottage style Inns. There is so much to do in this artistic peaceful town. It is only 90 minutes away from Los Angeles and a great way to escape from the city to relax and meditate. You can meditate and take a short hike at the Meditation Mount, where you can smell the laurels and oleander leaves, see hummingbirds and butterflies buzzing around in a lily pond, and enjoy beautiful foliage all around. It's best to come here during the sunset where the surrounding mountains are just bathed in a warm pinkish tone. Not far away is the Shelf Road hike in the Los Padres National Forest, an easy and popular 2.2 mile hike overlooking the entire green lush Ojai Valley of orange groves. Many locals walk, run, and bike on this Shelf Road path. Two beautiful charming places to stay is the Blue Iguana Inn and the Lavender Inn. The above mosaic blue iguana is also a popular artistic symbol of Ojai, fitting perfectly in this Southwestern style old world style villa. The Lavender Inn is right next to the Ojai Farmer's Market and the perfect charming vintage cottage style Bed & Breakfast to have your wedding or to stay during the summer Lavender Festival! Ojai has the largest lavender festival I have ever heard of where there are many local vendors who sell everything made of lavender from fresh bunches of lavender, lavender oils, soap, lotion, to even lavender honey! You can buy some of these lavender products in the Farmer's Market next to the Lavender Inn on Sundays from 9-1pm. The last place you have to visit in Ojai is Lake Casitas, a beautiful lake full of recreational activities for your entire family including paddle boating, fishing, kayaking, hiking and camping! The sunsets are beautiful at Lake Casitas too! Our Fall leaf necklaces and earrings are inspired by the charming natural beauty and serenity of Ojai. Hope you can visit Ojai too to experience all it has to offer! To see more of our Ojai inspired jewelry, please visit our Etsy store: www.kblossoms.etsy.com
